So I haven’t posted much on my website the past few years… COVID and my move to the USA have not been particularly constructive for my career! I’m sure many people feel the same as me, that it’s been hard to be creative when everything seems to be stagnating. I’ve found taking photos really hard, leaving my camera behind on hikes and trips.
Anyway, I’ve decided to try and pick up my camera once again and post some pictures here. A big problem is getting over the feeling that things close to home are less exciting than far flung travels, and I want to take a step back and see the things on my doorstep through the lens again.
A few weeks back my husband and I went on a beautiful hike to the top of Kennedy Peak in Page County, Virginia, just 20 minutes from our home. Everything on the north side of the mountain was covered in ice and was just very cool. Here are some of the images I took.
In some places the icicles were actually horizontal, the chilly winds were so strong!
I think my absolute favorite thing was these adorable little ice covered fir cones!
It’s not a lot, but I like sharing the beautiful things I’ve seen and I’m hoping to get back on the horse this year. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and happy 20231
